The Former President of the united states of America, Donald Trump, voiced shock during his indictment on Tuesday, rallying his supporters at his Florida home for his first public comments since being charged with making hush money payments to porn actress stormy daniels.
"I never thought anything like this could happen in America — never thought it could happen," he said, adding, "The only crime that I've committed is to fearlessly defend our nation from those who seek to destroy it." he said
Trump said that the charges and the arrest insulted the country. Trump became the first-ever president of the united states of America ever to be indicted or arrested. The former president was indicted on 34 charges.
The grand jury indictment issued against former president Trump last week will provide the world – and Trump's legal team – with the first information about the actual charges that Trump will face. The probe was prompted by a hush payment to pornographic film star Stormy Daniels during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Whether Trump will address his supporters and reporters in New York is still being determined. One of Trump's attorneys, Chris Kise, said he expects the former president to talk to reporters outside the courthouse before and after his hearing. CNN has learned that Trump has considered saying something while still in Manhattan. However, his advisers have cautioned him that any spontaneous remarks place him in great danger of being sued.
The indictment by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is the first criminal allegation levelled against Trump. Still, it is not the only legal problem that the former president may face: Special counsel Jack Smith's probe into Trump's involvement on January 6, 2021, assault on the US Capitol and the handling of secret papers at Mar-a-Lago continues. In addition, a Fulton County special grand jury has finished its probe into efforts to overturn Georgia's 2020 election.
