Another girl died in the hospital due to a sickness epidemic connected to food and water contamination at Mukumu Girls High School in Kakamega County.
Diana Mambili, an 18-year-old form four student, died while receiving treatment at the Kakamega referral hospital.
The death of diana was verified by Kakamega County Health Executive Bernard Wesonga. According to the health department, four girls are still in the hospital receiving treatment.
Mukumu Girls High School in Kakamega County was closed by public health officials after two students died as a result of a diarrhoea epidemic.

The school acknowledged in a statement that two children, one from Bungoma and the other from Navakholo in Kakamega county, died of bacterial diseases.
"We have lost two students Wendy Oyugi Amani Form 1W A, who passed away in Bungoma, and Miriam Namajanja 2C, who had not resumed from half term and passed away this morning at their home in Navakholo," said a portion of the message.
According to reports, the bacteria has affected over 500 pupils.
In a statement dated April 2, addressed to parents, the principal acknowledged the death of the students and asked God for guidance during these challenging times.
