President William Ruto has stated that the government will strengthen the Housing Fund to assist more Kenyans in purchasing affordable housing units.
The President noted that when the government executes the affordable housing scheme, there must be a solid strategy to solve low-income earners' financing to take advantage of the units.
He stated that Kenyans will now contribute 3% of their salaries to begin purchasing a home.
The head of state said that for Every employee who contributes 3%, the law requires their employer to contribute 3% to Housing Kitty.

He spoke at the official opening of Friends Church (Quakers) Donholm in Nairobi County.
Musalia Mudavadi, his wife Tessie, Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Affirmative Action, Gender Aisha Jumwa, Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, and other MPs were present. The scheme, according to the President, will also assist federal personnel.
President Ruto stated that the government's proposal to raise members' contributions to the National Social Security Fund (NSSF) had assisted the country in expanding its savings.

The President also stated that the government is collaborating with the county administration of Nairobi to clean and green the city. He said that the government will not only clean up Nairobi but also create electricity from the city's garbage.
