Leaders from the azimio la Umoja coalition are expected to join in on the convoy of their leader, raila odinga, as he jets back into the country from the USA and is expected to hold a rally in Kebera.

Opiyo Wandayi, Minority Leader in the National Assembly, said the alliance was getting ready to welcome him on arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport before heading to kibra

Ugunja politician said, urging opposition supporters to attend the rally in huge numbers.

Today's rally will be the second in a series of engagements after President William Ruto and Raila committed to bipartisan meetings to iron out their differences.

Before leaving the nation, the Azimio leader addressed town hall meetings in Murang'a last week, followed by roadside rallies. That was just a few days after he held a peaceful rally at the Kamkunji Grounds in Nairobi's Shauri Moyo neighbourhood.

Raila's return could be similar to the historic Baba-while-you-were-away return from the United States in May 2014

The police at the time permitted the opposition convoy to go unhindered. It is unclear whether the police will disperse today's caravan, as they recently did during the anti-government protest.

The Raila-led coalition has requested that the International Criminal Court investigate Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome for suspected police killings of protesters, but Koome has dismissed the request.

Azimio la Umoja coalition has already announced that anti-government protests will begin on Tuesday of next week.

Former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, who heads Azimio's council, has informed the police of the planned protests, indicating the routes that opposition demonstrators will take.

Raila has maintained pressure on President William Ruto's government and called off protests earlier this month to allow for dialogue on resolving issues he raised.
