Protesters in Kisumu town have barricaded roads ahead of the planned anti-government protests by the azimio la Umoja coalition.

Azimio la Umoja coalition leader Raila Odinga announced that the protest would resume after talks with the kenya kwanza government failed to bear fruits.

Odinga stated on Sunday that the opposition is peacefully exercising its constitutional right to assemble, hold demonstrations and present petitions to public authorities.

The opposition leader declared that on Tuesday, they would bring petitions to four government agencies to pressure President William Ruto's administration to listen to their demands.

The situation is similar in many parts of nairobi. A large police force has been stationed in sections of Nairobi in preparation for the anticipated resumption of Azimio la Umoja anti-government rallies.

Along Ngong Road, police were similarly seen at Prestige Mall areas and the Junction Mall. Roadblocks were also on all roads leading to the State House, with police personnel stationed on streets like Dennis Pritt.
