Uhuru Kenyatta has been deposed as leader of the Jubilee party, increasing squabbles within the erstwhile ruling party.
Following a National Executive Council (NEC) meeting on Tuesday, the Kanini Kega-led faction of the party announced that former Murang'a Woman Rep Sabina Chege is the new acting party leader.
After a meeting in nairobi, kanini kega said that Uhuru Kenyatta is no longer their party leader, and they have replaced him with Sabina Chege.
After Kanini clashed with Jeremiah Kioni over who was the genuine Secretary-General of the former ruling party, the party was rocked by leadership wranglings.

Adan Keynan, Vice-Chairman of the Jubilee Party, stated that the destiny of besieged Kioni is in the hands of the party's internal dispute resolution committee.
The Political Parties Tribunal rejected to overturn the NEC resolution that appointed EALA MP Kanini Kega as his substitute.
In its April 16 verdict, the tribunal stated that the notification for the National Executive Committee meeting issued on February 2 and the subsequent NEC meeting on February 10 that imposed Kega were both done in conformity with the party Constitution.
Last week, Kenyatta battled with police who had sealed off the Jubilee Party Headquarters in Kileleshwa.
Soon after, the police officers left, allowing Kioni's faction, led by Kenyatta, access to the party headquarters, which cops had blocked off since the morning.
Kenyatta, clearly enraged, questioned why the police meddled in the Jubilee party's internal matters, further shattering the calm and tranquillity in the community surrounding the party offices.
Uhuru stated that the property was not theirs and that they had merely rented it and had neighbours surrounding this building. However, they launched teargas at them so that you could forcefully remove the house. That is not correct, and it is not legal.
Jubilee has been facing leadership wrangles between those allied to the azimio la Umoja coalition and those allied to the ruling kenya kwanza government.
