The Kenyan government has suggested working with Canada to help its nationals find jobs.
The statement was made on Tuesday by Dr Alfred Mutua, the Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary, who noted that North America offers a variety of chances for employment and study.
Dr Mutua said on his social media accounts that he was discussing with his Canadian counterpart Sean Fraser from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship to supervise travel and housing for people looking to live overseas.
The Honourable @SeanFraserMP, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada, and I discussed several migration opportunity options for Kenyans to go and live or work in Canada during my official visit to Canada, he added.

"I was glad to learn that there are employment opportunities in Canada in various economic areas and that Kenyans can visit Canada for work, study, or both." He tweeted.
Even though the arrangement has yet to be implemented, the CS pointed out that Canada would be the ideal location because there are more jobs there than workers to fill them.
"We agreed that Kenya can cover the gap between Canada's employment prospects and its labour pool of available workers. Mutua said those who want to move to Canada can do so through a straightforward process, but they must be diligent.
"The Canadian and Kenyan governments have reached an agreement, and we will provide detailed instructions and links in the next few days so that Kenyans can apply for immigration or employment visas."
At the same time, CS Mutua urged Kenyans to wait until the government formalized the agreement and warned the public against con artists acting as legitimate agencies with Canadian job offers.
Please exercise caution and scepticism when dealing with agencies who claim to be hiring for Canadian businesses in the interim. We are aware that some agencies have duped several Kenyans. Therefore, he advised that you must exercise caution to avoid falling victim to fraud.
"Under the College of Immigration and Citizenship approved consultants @CitImmCanada, I will be providing a list of consultants who have been approved by the Canadian Government."
The CS's comments come as Kenya's jobless rate is at an all-time high.
