On Tuesday night, a freight trailer overturned off the Kachok flyover at the Kondele junction in Kisumu, killing three persons.
According to witnesses, the driver lost control of the truck while attempting to manoeuvre around a hairpin turn, causing the cargo trailer to flip over.
According to Nyanza Regional Traffic Commander Joseph Nganga, three people were killed on the scene when the trailer's weight crashed on a stopped tuk-tuk.

The truck driver, the tuk-tuk operator, and a woman seated on the passenger side of the tuk-tuk were all killed.
The occurrence drew a crowd of witnesses who attempted to salvage what was left of the accident.
Locals complained about inadequate road design, noting that many truck drivers had difficulty manoeuvring the difficult turn while hauling big loads.
"We urge the Kisumu County government to investigate the situation and install road signs to warn drivers of impending danger or divert the cargo trailer onto another road." Accidents are becoming more common in the region, and we are afraid for our lives," one homeowner told Citizen Digital.
Residents also want the pavement raised to prevent automobiles from flipping over if they lose control.
