During the jubilee party's National Delegates Conference (NDC) at the Ngong Racecourse in Nairobi, former president uhuru kenyatta said that he is not retiring from active politics any time soon.
"Nilikuwa kwa fikra zangu niende nishughulikie mambo mengi na nilikuwa nafikiria siku ya NDC itakuwa ya kuwambia wakati umefika wa kuwacha siasa na kupea wengine ushukani...hiyo ndio ilikuwa fikra yangu," Uhuru said
This statement comes when the former president has been receiving backlash from naysayers asking him to retire from politics and as the chair of the Jubilee party. A section of leaders from the kenya kwanza coalition has been asking him to hang his boots.
The former president said that kenya is a democratic country, and he will not be intimidated into stepping down uhuru added that he will keep serving the Jubilee party until they tell him to step down and let someone else take over. That is when he will vacate the seat.

Uhuru acknowledged that he had been abused several times despite being silent on various issues.
"We handed over power peacefully but even then they abused me, I kept quiet for them to exercise their right. What has been going on are abuses and theft of sheep and land, thinking that they will intimidate me," he said.

''I want to say that in Article 38 of the Constitution, there are certain inalienable rights, and one of them is the right for self-determination,'' the former Vice President said at the Jubilee National Delegates Convention at Ngong Racecourse on Monday
