The owner of the matatu that was set ablaze during the mass protest organized by Azimio leader Raila Odinga has made a plea for assistance. The distraught owner has reached out to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other well-wishers, appealing for their support in purchasing a new matatu.

On the 2nd of May, the minibus was completely destroyed by fire along Ngong Road in Nairobi during the height of the protest. The owner, faced with the loss of their means of livelihood, has turned to prominent figures like Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and others, hoping for their assistance in acquiring a replacement matatu.

During a statement given at Kilimani police station, Christopher Muya, the Chairman of the Matatu Owners Association in Nairobi, expressed their unsuccessful attempts to contact the owner's area Member of Parliament, Kimani Ichungwa, regarding the incident.

Henry Mungai Muiruri, the matatu owner, announced that he had scheduled a fundraising event on the 31st of this month at Boulevard. In a plea for support, he urged all individuals with goodwill to come forward and assist him during this challenging time.
