Five days after Azimio la Umoja withdrew from the discussions for seven days, alleging irreconcilable disagreements, the Kenya Kwanza Alliance has sought to prevent the talks from collapsing.
The ruling coalition is now proposing several steps to ensure that discussions can resume.
Kenya Kwanza proposes in a letter submitted to Azimio bipartisan discussions chairperson Otiende Amollo by his co-chairperson George Murugara that the committee write to the selection panel seeking that the process be halted for 21 - 30 days.
Concerning the preservation of the IEBC's Presidential Election Server, as demanded by Azimio, Kenya Kwanza contends that a legally ordained Interim Measure exists to preserve the servers until August 15, 2025, and that Murugara is willing to co-author a letter to the IEBC reminding them of their legal obligation to preserve the Presidential Election Servers and the data contained therein to facilitate any requirement for an inspection.
