Congolese troops engaged m23 rebels on Tuesday outside bwiza, 40km from Goma town. This act comes as m23 spokesman kanyuka Lawrence announced that the group is ready to withdraw.
"The M23 reiterates its readiness to the direct dialogue with the DRC government in order to find a lasting solution to the root causes of the conflict in the Eastern DRC," the group spokesman Lawrence Kanyuka said
He said the M23 group "was ready to start disengagement and withdraw".

Earlier this month, during the Luanda peace summit, withdrawing from the territories was a key demand. These territories include major entry points for goods from Kenya and Uganda. Tuesdays classes sent local people fleeing, bringing the neighbouring town of Kitchanga to a standstill.
DRC government has blamed m23 for a clash that killed almost 300 people last week in the northern province of Kivu. The conflict is said to be between m23 rebels and a group called mai mai. a civil society representative in kibizi said that m23 went around the village, killing anyone they thought was a mai mai rebel.
The m23 group has, however, failed to honour the Luanda summit peace deal by carrying out attacks in the northeastern part of kivu. The DRC government has primarily blamed Rwanda for supporting the armed militia group financially. Rwanda has come out guns blazing, denying the allegations and saying that they play no part in the violence that is going on in the democratic republic of congo
the DRC took a step further by suspending Rwanda's ambassador to the country as the relationship between the east African and the central African nation continued to deteriorate.
Both parties accuse each other of trying to pull out of the Luanda summit peace deal. they rached a deal to restore peace to the eastern part of the kivu region.
