Ahmednassir Abdullahi has advised President William Ruto on what he should do before leading Kenya into an economic revival.

The senior counsel stated on Saturday that governance should come first, before anything else.

"The problem in Kenya is not the economy. Kenya's issue is one of rule of law. "It's a false narrative that informs our current conversation about how to jump-start our economy," Ahmednassir said.

According to the senior counsel, it is imperative for the President to prioritize addressing governance and the rule of law deficiencies before the country can experience economic recovery.

Deputy President Ruto has consistently maintained that the current administration, Kenya Kwanza, inherited an economy in disarray from the previous Jubilee regime. He argues that time is needed to stimulate growth and generate funds to fulfil their manifesto promises.

Nevertheless, Ruto has appealed to Kenyans, including the opposition, to grant the government the opportunity to fulfil its responsibilities. He acknowledges that if the government fails to deliver, criticism will be permitted in 2027.

The essence of Ruto's statements underscores the need for addressing governance and rule of law issues while also emphasizing the importance of allowing the government sufficient time to execute its plans.

According to a survey conducted by the research firm Tifa and published in March 2023, increased economic suffering is the largest mistake made by President William Ruto's government.

Economic hardship, in the opinion of 41% of supporters of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya alliance, is Ruto's worst failing.

Kipruto Kirwa, a former vice chairman of the United Democratic Alliance, added that Kenya's economy has to be revived urgently. Kirwa advised President William Ruto to strive more to boost the economy of the nation.
