On June 9, two 'quack' Lawyers were each prosecuted separately for impersonating High Court Advocates in violation of Sections 33 and 85 of the Advocates Act.

The first person to appear in court was Jerusha Nyambura Mwangi, a secretary at Washira Nderitu and Company Advocates. She was charged with intentionally pretending to be an Advocate of the High Court on May 17, 2023, at Ellys House along City Hall Way in Nairobi.

She was also charged with ordering Sophie Kaibira to submit an affidavit while knowing that she lacked the necessary qualifications to serve as a Kenyan High Court advocate.

On the other hand, Onesmus Dola was also accused of pretending to be a High Court advocate at Gill House on Moi Avenue in Nairobi by ordering an affidavit while being aware that he was ineligible to practice as an advocate.

They both denied the charges and were released on a cash bail of Ksh 20,000.
