A Daystar University alumni defended President Ruto's daughter Charlene Ruto after Kenyans accused her of lying about doing smokies business back when she was a campus student.
Redemption Oburu, through a long post on her Facebook account, Redempta claimed that it was true Charlene Ruto sold smokies.
She added that Daystar University is a big institution and not everyone would know what others are doing. She also claimed that at some point, she bought smokies from Charlene on credit and she herself sold second-hand clothes and shoes at some point because the campus is usually a ready market.

"I was in Daystar University, and smokie kachumbari was the only thing that was selling, I was encouraged to take up the small business," she said.
Redemption concluded by stating that Charlene is a humble and ambitious girl who does not despise any job.
Charlene narrated about her smokies business while addressing students at the University of Nairobi. She said that her father President Ruto encouraged her. However, a student from the crowd shouted that it was a lie and others laughed loudly.#ClimateRevolution#AchievingThePlan

Since her father President William Ruto assumed office, Kenyans have been seeing more and more of Charlene Ruto, who is gracing the eye of the public in different development events.
Unlike her older brothers and sister, Charlene seems to thrive under the spotlight. Miss Ruto is very active on social media and most specifically Twitter where she expresses her opinions and agendas of her father's government, Kenya Kwanza.
Taking to her official social media platform, renowned blogger Pauline Njoroge questioned the motive of Charlene Ruto to various ministries across the country.
Although Charlene does not have a specific official role, she is seen participating in different government events actively.
Many Kenyans are however concerned with knowing the exact role the second daughter of the president holds in an official capacity.
