On Saturday night in Wi-Rakuom village, Ndhiwa constituency, Homa Bay County, a 15-year-old boy was electrocuted and died.
Wi-Rakuom Primary School student Castro Odhiambo, who was in grade seven, passed away after touching a live, exposed wire left at the fence of a neighbouring house.
The child took a wooden rod and grasped the live wire while playing with his friends at their neighbour's house, claims the local assistant chief Alphonse.
The administrator claims that the deceased yelled loudly after being electrocuted, causing his friends and family to hurry to the site. On the ground, they discovered him unconscious.
He had already been declared dead when he arrived at a private hospital in Rodi Kopany.
