Along the Kitale-Eldoret route, an automobile accident claimed the lives of three people.

John Kidula, the chairman of the local Nyumba Kumi group, claims that the victims were riding a motorcycle when a fast truck struck them.

One of the casualties, according to Kidula, was a student returning to St. Anthony Boys School in Kitale.

If our people continue to die in such a way, we will not support the current state of affairs. If parents pay tuition and the youngsters pass away in such a horrifying way, we will not be able to come to an agreement. I offer my condolences to the bereaved families, Kidula said, adding that the collision may have been avoided if the route had speed bumps to slow down vehicles.

In order to prevent more accidents, he encouraged the ministry of Roads, Transport, and Public Works to widen the road and repair the bumps.

"We request that the authorities take action and repair this road. This route is so narrow that it cannot support many vehicles.

"Kipchumba Murkomen, the Cabinet Secretary for Roads, is well-versed in the state of this route. In order to increase safety, we ask that this road be lengthened and improved.
