Maina Karobia, an EALA MP, has supported National Assembly Majority Whip Silvanus Osoro for going to any length to ensure that the contentious Finance Bill 2023 was passed by the House.
This comes after Osoro admitted on Thursday to employing unethical and corrupt means, including bribery, to persuade some Azimio MPs to back the motion endorsed by the Kenya Kwanza administration.
During a UDA recruitment drive in Kitutu Chache South Constituency, osoro admitted that he had to look for ways by hook or crook to pass the finance bill. He had to manipulate systems and find ways to get the opposition MPs to play to their tune. He adds that he conspired with some opposition MPs and got some of them absent from the House so that he could get the numbers and that Some of them were sponsored to go abroad while others were bribed to fake illness.
Karobia stated on Citizen TV's Daybreak Show on Friday that the Majority Whip must guarantee that the interests of the current administration are given top billing in Parliament.

He added that If Finance Bill 2023 did not pass, Osoro would have been put on the spot because he is the Majority Whip.
He explained that As Majority Whip, he had to be creative because people were looking up to him for leadership solutions and guidance and adding that People would not be present to guide themselves. It's a matter of being pragmatic because if one fails in such situations, people will regard him as a failure.
