Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio party, looked happy as he boarded a matatu on his way to work.
"Embracing the convenience and camaraderie of public transportation heading to work this morning," Raila captioned a video on Instagram.
The matatu conductor took the opportunity to inform the azimio leader about the high fuel cost.
Other passengers told him about the high living expense and how the country is not on the right track.

Raila and his entourage arrived in Nairobi CBD and proceeded to the Tom Mboya statue spot.
The Azimio leader appears to be following through on his June 27 proclamation, in which he advised Kenyans to take steps such as carpooling to prevent the government from receiving more money from the higher VAT on gasoline items.
"Let us deny Ruto the fuel tax by limiting gasoline and diesel consumption." Carpooling is one way to accomplish this. "Let us plan to travel in a single vehicle whenever possible; give each other rides, reduce unnecessary travel, and walk instead of driving whenever possible," Odinga added.
His Azimio counterpart, Martha Karua, has also revealed that she has been carpooling to work too to save fuel.
She told Spice FM that Long before the taxation issue arose, she always carpooled, and there have been meetings where they have appeared in one car, sometimes with Eugene, sometimes with other people. She added We need to cut costs in how we operate, and we're not telling people things we haven't done,
According to Karua, such policies result in the government receiving less cash through taxation. She added that Because the government has refused to listen to Kenyans, they are making life more complex and should be denied what they seek.
Raila Odinga, the head of Azimio, recommended the tax boycott to prevent the government from imposing new taxes.
Raila urged that people walk and carpool to protest increasing gasoline taxes.
