According to State House spokesperson Hussein Mohammed, the visit by Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi to Kenya has been rescheduled.

Even though Nairobi had made preparations for Raisi's arrival and had the media set up, it was not immediately evident why the visit was scheduled at the last minute.

At State House in Nairobi, President William Ruto was scheduled to host his Iranian counterpart.

In his three-day journey of Africa, Raisi had previously stated that he will be stopping in Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Uganda.

The expansion of the two countries' bilateral trade relations was among the items high on the agenda.

Regarding the postponed trip, Tehran has not yet released a statement.
