For the first time, President William Ruto has discussed the Finance Act 2023, which is currently being litigated.
In order for his government to move forward with its plans, the President has requested the court to remove the legal barriers that are standing in the way of the law as quickly as possible.
The President stated that numerous projects had been placed on hold as a result of the court's decision to suspend the law when speaking at the presentation of title documents to shareholders of Embakasi Ranching Company in Nairobi County on Tuesday.
“Nataka kortini wamalizane na mambo ya Finance Bill. Wawachane na Finance Bill. Sisi tunataka kuendelea na maendeleo ya taifa yetu la Kenya. The Bill shouldn't be blocked by them. President Ruto declared, "We want to move on with the development of our county.

His comments came a day after Justice Mugure Thande of the High Court rejected the Treasury Cabinet Secretary Prof. Njuguna Ndung'u's request to have the suspension order on the Finance Act 2023 lifted.
The President said that some of the Act's opponents are responsible for the importation of the goods that the Act is meant to stop.
"You cannot deny the youth and children of Kenya their rights. They merit the positions they seek, according to President Ruto.
The President added that due to inadequate planning by the previous administration, the nation has lagged behind in terms of economic growth across all sectors.
Because of a small number of individuals who wish to frighten everyone, we have been unable to make the difficult decisions necessary to unleash Kenya's potential. They will meet with me this time, I want to reassure them of that," he remarked.
The President stated that his government will not permit a few people who are only interested in their own interests to derail the country in reference to the impending street protests that Azimio la Umoja - One Kenya Coalition has called for on Wednesday.
“Siwezi kubali kwamba tuko na nchi ambayo watu wachache wanazuia ndio watu wengi wasifaidike. Mimi nataka niwaambie sitarudi nyuma "I won't let a few people stop the majority from using our services." President Ruto remarked, "I want to reassure you that I won't turn around.
On Wednesday, the President promised that the nation will be at peace. He added that his administration would not permit any more unrest like that which was seen last Friday during the Saba Saba protests.
"Six people perished on Friday last week. I won't stand by as more Kenyans are killed in the name of a politician's ambition. That won't happen, I assure you. Few individuals shouldn't believe they have the power to destabilize the nation and undermine the Republic of Kenya. it's anarchy, not politics, and I won't let it happen, he declared.
The President claimed that the opposition is upset by the government's efforts to give young people job possibilities, which will prevent them from having any backing for their protests.
"Please give Kenyans and the Kenyan people a rest... You've ruined plans for so many people that I won't let you do it again.
