The sight of how Narc Party leader Martha Karua positioned herself on the motorbike while being escorted out of Meru town by the police left Kenyans in awe.

Karua, the leader of the Narc Party, took charge on Wednesday as Azimio supporters in Meru County signed the petition aiming to remove President William Ruto from his position. In a tweet, Karua shared a video showing residents adding their signatures to the petition and provided a caption for it.

"Signature Collection from Muthaara Meru County."

The video captures a man asking individuals if they are willing to endorse the petition as their voices are heard in the background.

"Mmesema mnataka kusign? Mnataka kusign?" he asks, to which the crowd shouts in affirmation.

Jeremiah Kioni, the former Jubilee Secretary-General, joined Karua as they both took part in the signature collection exercise. Raila Odinga, the leader of Azimio, together with the other coalition leaders, called upon Kenyans to assert their sovereign power by participating in this endeavor. During a Saba Saba rally held at Kamukunji Grounds in Nairobi on Friday, Raila initially set a goal of gathering 10 million signatures. However, on Monday, he increased the target to 15 million signatures.

Raila officially launched the Tumechoka digital platform, a public website dedicated to the collection of signatures, on Tuesday.

"This is part of the campaign of resistance, the civil disobedience and citizens' actions that we have decided to pursue to force Ruto and his regime to respect and listen to the people," Raila said.

It should be noted that the signature collection process is not a legally recognized method for removing a President from office. The established legal avenues for removing a President are through parliamentary processes, such as impeachment or on grounds of incapacity.
