Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has come out to fiercely criticize Opposition leader Raila Odinga for Wednesday's nationwide protests, which resulted in the deaths of at least nine people.
Gachagua chastised the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party head in Laikipia on Thursday, accusing him of coordinating 'baseless' and fatal demonstrations that have caused more harm than good.
The DP responded to Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna's remarks on Thursday, in which the MP claimed that the Opposition would lead three days of protests next week, claiming that their only goal was to see violence in the country.

"They slaughtered six individuals last Monday, jana watu saba...Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday are sasa nimeona wamesema itakua. What is the meaning of kuua watu wangapi kila siku ndio watosheke? Hello damu, wanataka ni ya nini?" Gachagua posed for the camera.
The DP pointed to Odinga's presidential election bids as he chastised him, alleging that his only response after losing the elections was to foment havoc in the country.
According to Gachagua, the Azimio chief is already old enough and should consider hanging his boots now that his political battle has stalled.
"How much blood must you shed, Raila Odinga, to be satisfied?" Kenyans have rejected you five times...What are you fighting for now that you are 80 years old? Unafanya ni nini?" he posed the question.
DP Gachagua accused the former premier of being the country's political crisis.
"Unapanga kila siku watu wauwawe, mali ya watu iharibiwe na wewe hakuna kazi unafanya, wako hakuna kazi wanafanya," he explained.
"I told President Uhuru Kenyatta that huyu mtu unatuletea is the problem of this country, and that the problems of this country will end tukimalizana na huyu mtu," Gachagua stated.
The Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Coalition Party has announced that it will stage anti-government protests three days next week, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
The group stated in a statement issued on Friday that due to public demand, it had reconsidered its prior plan to hold the protests just on Wednesday.
