The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has launched an investigation into claims of fraudulent activity involving a scholarship program to Finland established by the Uasin Gishu County government.

Following complaints from many Uasin Gishu locals who claim to have been duped by the facilitators of the so-called scholarship program, DCI sleuths initiated investigations.

Uasin Gishu, Kenya Governor Jonathan Bii has since distanced himself from the Finland scholarship scandal, claiming that his predecessor, current Senator Jackson Mandago, should come up and explain what transpired.

Bii told the press in Eldoret town on Tuesday that no one should engage him in any new scam and that those involved in defrauding the scholarship money should bear their cross.
