Kipchumba Murkomen, the cabinet secretary for roads, transport, and public works, has counselled former president Uhuru Kenyatta to stop aiding Raila Odinga in organizing anti-government demonstrations.
On Sunday, while attending a church service at the AIPCA Bahati Cathedral in Nairobi, the CS warned Uhuru to let go of Raila and threatened to hold the opposition leader responsible for the unrest that had turned violent in several locations.
"If Raila had been left alone, he would have made a different decision. Because I know him, I want to tell the former president Uhuru Kenyatta to let Raila go and leave him alone, just like Pharaoh did with the Israelites, said Murkomen.
"Let Raila go and let him make personal decisions and we will deal with him as an individual let alone the strength that you give to him," he continued. "The incitement you compound on him, the strength you give him, the wrong use of your resources to cause havoc and intimidation to the people of Kenya."

Murkomen also encouraged the opposition leader to reconsider his attitude on the ongoing protests, which are set to pick up again on Wednesday.
"I want to convey to Raila Odinga from this Church that it is still possible to change and embrace peace. You still have the option to change your mind and support a unified nation. The man said it is highly uncommon for an 80-year-old to wander Nairobi's streets in the guise of Maandamo.
He admonished Uhuru to refrain from what he described as undermining government operations and instead let the existing administration carry out its manifesto. According to Murkomen, property devastation won't alter the nation's economic situation.
Demonstrations are scheduled for three days straight starting on Wednesday by the Azimio group.
The Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki and President William Ruto have issued severe warnings to the Azimio against organizing violent protests in the nation, reiterating that the government will not permit such demonstrations.
