On Monday, former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga was arraigned before the Makadara Law Courts after being in police custody for over four days.
Njenga and two others were apprehended on July 19 in the Olosurutia district of Kajiado County.
According to a court document obtained by Citizen Digital, Njenga and Peter Kamunya, along with Felix Lakishe, were arrested on July 19 with "...cannabis weighing 1.224 grams with a market value of Ksh.36,720 and cocaine weighing 486 grams with a market value of Ksh.1.944. 000 concealed in plastic bag packages in motor vehicle make Toyota Hilux Surf registration number KCJ 413X."

According to the records, the trio was discovered equipped with 14 machetes, 24 Maasai swords, 46 rungus, and three jembe sticks on July 20.
According to the paper, the facts "indicated that they were so armed with the intent to commit a felony."
On the same day, the trio is reported to have arranged an illegal gathering and parade throughout Nairobi city county and other regions.
The trio has now been charged with five counts of criminal preparation and narcotics trafficking. They will also face charges of inciting the public to violence and organizing an unlawful assembly.
