Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has accused President William Ruto of destroying the country's education system.
In a video seen by waza, Babu Owino says that the president's curriculum is substandard and nonsensical and should never have been approved.
Babu explained that for a student to join a university, the least amount of money they have to pay is ksh 200000 to do a course in social sciences and that that would amount to ksh 800000 by the time they finish four years in university.
The MP asked the president how a mama mboga who earns less than a dollar a day expected to raise that amount of money to be able to educate one child. He said that that punishes the mama mboga who voted for him expecting him to improve his life.

Babu said it will be impossible for mama mboga to expand her business when she is expected to raise that money to fund her kid's education. Babu notes that the fees for those taking science and medicine will be ksh 600000 per year, and the total cost will be around ksh 3.6 million.
He questioned the criteria that will be used to determine who is a needy student for them to get HELB, adding that most kenyans are needy, from those living in the slums to those living in villages.
