The National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) has launched an investigation into fentanyl abuse claims in Mombasa County.

NACADA personnel, led by CEO John Muteti, visited Mombasa on Tuesday and collected samples for further study.

He said that Most of these drugs are prescriptions that may have leaked from hospitals and want to gather concrete information to share with the public.

They are also working with a team from the government chemists, pharmacies, and the Poisons Board to gather enough information.
