Former Governor of Nairobi country Miko Sonko has stated that he is still working in government and is advising on several vital subjects.
Sonko claims he has been a ruling party member since joining the Kenya Kwanza brigade during the 2022 election campaign and has participated in the coalition's activities since then.
During an interview with nation tv, he said that Everybody knows he was in Kenya Kwanza and campaigned for the president. sonko said that he can say he is in government even though he does not hold any official position, but he still has some small political muscles in the kenya kwanza government.

Sonko claimed that he still intends to return to politics, stressing that he has not exhausted all options of appeal to overturn the Supreme Court's judgment. he was restricted from contesting for any political seat after his impeachment.
The Nairobi County Assembly impeached Sonko in December 2020 for serious misconduct and misuse of office.
He maintained his innocence and claimed that his dismissal from office was politically driven.
He added that he had exhausted his Supreme Court appeals but is hopeful because the law allows him to appeal if he gets new evidence.
