Wafula Chebukati, the former Chairperson of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), has emerged after keeping a low profile since last year's General Election.
Chebukati stepped down in January after overseeing the August 2022 elections, which saw William Ruto emerge victorious despite opposition from his primary rival Raila Odinga, who claimed electoral fraud.
On Sunday, the 61-year-old former IEBC chief captioned a rare snapshot of himself smiling, "Laughter transcends generations."

Chebukati is smiling alongside his father, who is also laughing, in the snapshot uploaded on the X platform.
A section of kenyans still mad about how the former IEBC chair handled the 2022 general elections were not shy to air their views.
We will never forgive you

It won’t take long before the laughter becomes tears🙏

Others were happy to see him smiling, saying that the job at IEBC must have been draining.
First time I'm seeing Chebukati having a hearty laughter/smile. The job at IEBC must have been draining.
