The order to deregister Pastor Ezekiel Odero's church, the New Life Prayer Centre & Church, has been delayed by the High Court.
Odero had filed two applications to overturn the directive, one on Monday and the other on Tuesday, but the first had been dismissed.
Justice Jairus Ngaah granted Odero the suspension of the Registrar of Societies' instruction in a new application brought by Franklin Kilonzo and Alice Wanyama.
He further forbade the Registrar of Societies, its agents, or anyone working on their behalf from "disrupting or obstructing the operations of New Life Prayer Centre & Church."

Meanwhile, Odero has been allowed seven days to submit and serve the substantive orders of the judicial review motion.
"The respondents shall file and serve their response to the motion within seven days of the date of service of the applicants' motion," according to court documents.
The matter's direction will be issued following the court's recess on September 20, 2023.
