President William Ruto has restated his three-step prescription for the court lawsuits involving creditors and the Mumias Sugar Company: abandon the legal cases or face incarceration, deportation, or a trip to heaven.
President Ruto stated on Wednesday that this is not a threat but rather how things will be.
As the President reiterated his chilling message, one of the companies contesting the lease of Mumias sugar to Uganda-based miller Sarrai Group filed a notice with the Court of Appeal asking to abandon the case.

Sarbjit Singh Rai, the company's owner, is embroiled in a legal battle with his billionaire brother Jaswant Rai, who controls West Kenya Sugar, over the 20-year lease awarded to Sarrai and the method by which Mumias Sugar was handed over to him.
As the first major party announced a decision to withdraw from the Mumias court battle, President Ruto, who is still on a tour of Western Kenya, ignored calls for him to rescind his threats to the parties at the center of the Mumias lawsuits.
"Wale watu wanazungukana na ma media sijui na nani kuissue press conference you're wasting your time. Mambo ya corruption will not be part of this country anymore. We are sick and tired, Kenyans are sick and tired, politicians who defend corruption should be ashamed of themselves, those giving defence to matters that is destroying our nation..,” said Ruto.
