A well-known Kenyan journalist named Maya Hayakawa has revealed that, after five years, she is leaving the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).
The media personality announced the major news in a post on her Instagram page, where she even hinted that her next endeavor will be somewhat unrelated to her media career.
Maya Hayakawa claims that she has joined the Bridge Kenya group, which is renowned for operating inexpensive private schools in the nation. Director of Communications will be her new title.
The mother of two was obviously ecstatic as she broke the news, and she even made a promise to do everything in her power to make sure that her new position in education matters had a lasting influence.
"I am thrilled to share that I have joined Bridge Kenya at the Director of Communications, after a remarkable journey with the BBC. As a passionate advocate for education, I am eager to contribute my expertise in driving impactful communications for Kenya and Uganda..." Maya Hayakawa wrote in part.

Checking through her Instagram bio, it is clear that the mother of two has edited it to confirm her departure. It now reads "Ex @bbcafrica Senior Presenter".
The disclosure of the new job however elicited massive reactions from netizens and they flooded Maya Hayakawa's timeline with congratulatory messages because of the new job.
Maya Hayakawa has actually left the BBC after working there for approximately 5 years.
During her time at the giant media house, she was a senior reporter known for hosting the show dubbed 'Money Daily'.
The sassy media personality, however, left K24 TV, which was owned by Mediamax Limited, and joined BBC in 2018.
Having started at K24 TV in 2015, Maya Hakawa worked there for three years before quitting.
