According to court documents obtained by Citizen Digital, the sum above of Ksh. Fifty-eight million was improperly transferred as payment to a law firm.
They all entered not-guilty pleas. The earlier cash bail they had been given was upheld by the court.
The former governor's political light seems to dim with each passing day. He is involved in an election dispute with the current governor of Homabay County. Even though Governor Gladys Wanga defeated him by a margin of up to 90,000 votes, he still had to give up on running the autonomous entity.
He was appointed the Ministry of Investment, Trade, and Industry's Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) but is not stepping down from this court battle.
