Renowned journalist Joe Ageyo has returned to local screens, marking his comeback after a one-and-a-half-year absence from Citizen TV. This resurgence was unveiled following the announcement by Nation Media Group on Tuesday, naming Ageyo as their Editor-in-Chief in the Editorial Department. In this capacity, Ageyo's responsibilities encompass overseeing the operationalization of newsroom integration and assuming leadership of the Group's editorial division.

"We are pleased to announce the appointment of @jageyo as the Editor-in-Chief at Nation Media Group. In this role, Joe will be responsible for the operationalization of the newsroom integration and take charge of the Group’s editorial arm of the business. Please join us in congratulating him," read a post from Nation Media Group

Additionally, he will assume overall responsibility for the editorial operations of the station across all its platforms.

In March 2022, the former Royal Media Services Editorial Director said that he was leaving the S.K Macharia-owned media group "an extremely proud man".

In his farewell message on the News Gang show at Citizen TV, Ageyo expressed his gratitude for having had the privilege to lead the most capable television team in the nation and the most diverse radio team.

"I leave tonight an extremely proud man, proud of the mountains we've scaled together here, proud of any shoulders thee were to lean on when the ride took us to the valley," he said.

During the last four years, Ageyo held the position of Editorial Director at RMS. He mentioned that he was departing to respond to a new and distinct calling.
