The trade CS took to his X page, formerly known as Twitter, and shared a picture of slashed prices of basic items, claiming that the price of basic food items has started to go down.

A section of kenyans were not happy with the CS claims and informed him that the supermarket offers weekly discounts so that offer is not new.

"Surely Moses! Carrefour has weekly promotions on selected items to push stock. How do you equate this to the prices of goods coming down and GOK working for Wanjiku?" one user asked.

"😅 boss man. Carrefour advertises every week deals they’ve agreed with brands. It’s one of their requirements for merchants to push for deals. Every week there’s a deal. This nimekataa" another one added.

"Offers ndio unasema food prices are coming down, sometimes mimi huona kama huwa unatuchekelea"

We understand you have a marketing and advertisement partnership with Carrefour Kenya. Don't think we are fools.
