Kenya is set to host Africa's Next Super Model 2023 on October 26, advertised as one of Africa's biggest beauty pageants with a Ksh.700,000 prize.
The coveted event, which is set to take place at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Upper Hill, Nairobi, promises to be a spectacle, bringing together the world's best models and designers.
According to the organizers, Africa's Next Super Model is more than just a runway show; it celebrates African culture and innovation.
Four Kenyans will get the opportunity to surprise audiences with an electric blend of fashion, culture, and talent: Nelly Atabo, Wilkister Chepkoech, Nancy Njoki, and Agnes Wakoyu.
The event also highlights Africa's various skills by featuring models from all regions, including the Kakuma refugee camp and other East African camps.
While in Nairobi, Nigerian-born and Africa-focused Joan Okorodudu, CEO of Isis Models International, an agency that discovers, develops, and promotes the careers of beautiful black models, expressed her excitement about this year's competition, adding that over 31 agents had already registered for Africa's Next Super Model 2023, with participants from Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Burundi, and Uganda.
She also stated that this year's event will be a cultural melting pot and showcase the continent's modeling talent.
Models are expected to arrive on October 20, 2023, for what is expected to be a tightly contested competition. The battle will be fierce, with several models registered, and the top 20 models will be able to shine on the runway.
The debut edition of Africa's Next Super Model took place in Kigali, Rwanda, in November 2022, laying the groundwork for the prestigious modeling competition's future success and growth.
