Gospel singer Reuben Kigame has declared his interest in the 2027 presidential seat.

Kigame stated on Facebook that it is still early to disclose his intentions in the campaign for the country's top position.

"How can it be right for others to begin campaigning and then be wrong for me to declare my intentions?" "This Kenya belongs to all of us," the post stated in part.

He claims that his presidential campaign in 2022 was only interrupted, not halted.

Kigame was barred from voting in 2022 after the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) determined he did not meet the criteria. Kigame charged the then-Chebukati-led panel of "violating his constitutional rights despite being a person living with a disability."

The Huniachi hitmaker believes he has the solution to Kenya's problems. In a biblical allusion to himself and Esther, he remarks, "My team and I are alive for a time such as this."

"As you have been led to believe and imagine, Kenya Kwanza and Azimio are not the only options available to us." There is a third genuine, people-focused option."

In a 24-point agenda, he promises to select professionals of character to form the next government, to promote devolution and increased funding to counties while demanding greater accountability for such funds, to work towards free education for all our children, to ensure accessible and quality healthcare for all, to stop economic bleeding, and to punish/jail those who engage in national resource theft, among other things.

Kigame is no stranger to the political arena. He ran for the Vihiga gubernatorial seat in 2013 and finished fourth. He ran for president in 2022 and is now proclaiming his desire to run again in 2027, believing clean-up begins with the top leadership.

Kigame has issued a rallying cry to everybody who wishes to support his presidential bid.

“Fund us. Campaign for us. Believe in this new way of doing government. It is possible and it is on offer.”
