Kiambu County Assembly (MCA) members have given Governor Kimani Wamatangi a 21-day deadline to appoint County Executive Committee executives or risk impeachment.
The MCAs are disappointed that their attempts to have the Governor form an all-inclusive Cabinet have gone unnoticed.
They also want Governor Wamatangi to select managers for the six municipalities, which they claim will likely lose World Bank funds worth Ksh.1.3 billion annually.

Furthermore, the MCAs urge the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to investigate how billions of dollars in public funds were wasted during Wamatangi's leadership.
They claim they have every grounds to impeach Wamatangi if he does not comply with their demands."Nataka nihakikishie Wanakenya na hasa Wanakiambu kwa jumla, Gavana yale matendo amefanya kwa hii county yetu, si mambo ya kufaidi wanainchi," Limuru East Ward MCA Paul Macharia remarked. "Ni kupora na tukona grounds zile tutatumia Wamatangi ameenda nyumbani."
"We have issued our ultimatum to the Governor that if he doesn't shape up, we will proceed and file a notice motion of impeachment to the County Assembly of Kiambu," Ruth Waithira, the mayor of Githiga Ward, stated.
"We rise to condemn Governor Wamatangi's failure," his Kikuyu counterpart Kamau Boro added. Since taking office in 2022, the Governor has treated county affairs as if they were a personal kiosk, with little regard for the importance of County Assembly."
