Suna East MP Junet Mohamed has expressed gratitude to Azimio leader Raila Odinga for selecting him as the Minority Leader in the National Assembly. Junet pledged that under his leadership, their movement would succeed. "I thank my Party Leader the Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga and @TheODMparty for trusting and proposing me to lead the Minority Coalition in the National Assembly at this pivotal moment. Our movement will triumph," he said.

This announcement follows Raila's party decision to appoint Junet as the new Minority Leader, replacing Opiyo Wandayi, who has been nominated to lead the Energy and Petroleum docket in President William Ruto’s government. Junet, currently serving his third term, has been the Minority Whip since the last Parliament.

Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo will succeed Junet as the Minority Whip, as announced after the ODM Central Management Committee meeting chaired by Raila. Additionally, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi will chair the Public Accounts Committee, taking over from nominated MP John Mbadi, who has been selected to head the National Treasury.
