Businessman Jimi Wanjigi recently disclosed that he did not speak to Raila Odinga during a visit to his home following a police raid because it was too dangerous. In an interview on Tuesday, August 13, Wanjigi explained that his family urged him to stay hidden, fearing that the police might kill him if he came out.

Wanjigi recounted the harrowing ordeal, describing how his family endured brutal treatment at the hands of the police. His wife, in particular, was targeted—dragged from a sofa by a policewoman and beaten, despite her desperate pleas for mercy. The family insisted that Wanjigi remain hidden, even if it meant they would face the brutality alone.

The Safina Party leader was inside his home during the raid but stayed out of sight to avoid being captured or killed. Helplessly, he watched as the police threatened and mistreated his family, unable to intervene without endangering his own life.

Wanjigi revealed that the situation was so dire that his family was willing to sacrifice their own safety to protect him. Their determination and strength during the ordeal were evident, even under the intense pressure of the raid.

Despite the terrifying experience, Wanjigi praised his family's resilience, highlighting that their courage was a testament to the strong bond they share.
