Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo shared a late-night message as Meru County Governor Kawira Mwangaza faced her third impeachment trial in two years.

In her message, Millie carefully avoided being accused of interfering in the affairs of Meru County, stating that she does not fully grasp the politics of the region. However, she emphasized that she understands the challenges of being a woman leader.

The outspoken lawmaker, who had suggested that Kawira is being targeted because she is a woman, expressed her sympathies with the first-term county governor during her trial.


"I do not understand the Meru politics. I do understand though, what it means to be a woman leader. My heart goes out to Kawira Mwangaza." She

According to Nominated MCA Zipporah Kinya, Governor Kawira Mwangaza was found guilty of three charges: gross violations of the Constitution, gross misconduct, and abuse of office.

In the charge of gross violation of the Constitution and other laws, Kinya alleged that Mwangaza illegally revoked the appointment of a county public service board official.

Mwangaza was removed from office after 49 MCAs voted in favor of the impeachment motion, while 17 opposed it. Three members did not attend the assembly for the impeachment vote.
