A segment of Kenyans on X have criticized Dennis Itumbi for his recent post, where he seemingly implied that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua misled the public regarding his fallout with President William Ruto over Adani's business dealings in Kenya.
On Sunday, Gachagua claimed that during a heated State House meeting, he had cautioned Ruto against allowing Adani to operate in Kenya, citing warnings from the National Intelligence Service (NIS).
Taking to his X handle, Dennis Itumbi shared a video clip of former Deputy President Hon Rigathi Gachagua denying being involved in Adani operations in Kenya. Itumbi insinuated that Gachagua's past video denying involvement with Adani is a clear contradiction with his Sunday Remarks that he warned Ruto against the Adani Group.
Kenyans on X were quick to call out Dennis Itumbi, urging him to recognize the significant distinction between Gachagua denying involvement with Adani and his claim of warning Ruto against the company.
"Facts are stubborn. When he was the DP, Rigathi told us he had no idea about ADANI, and he did not know whether it was a bad or good deal for Country. Now he is out he says he was fearless and opposed it in cabinet. Uongo has a shelf life! Truthful man, lying!," Itumbi wrote on Twitter.
