Supporting former President Uhuru Kenyatta, nominated MP Sabina Chege acknowledged that she declined an opportunity to serve as Nairobi's deputy governor during the most recent election.
According to Sabina, many other Jubilee leaders with established track records could not return their seats because of their political attitude, and she told Inooro TV on Sunday.
To ensure that our leader (Uhuru) would fully complete his term and not leave in disgrace, Sabina revealed she had a chance for the position of Deputy Governor of Nairobi.

On defending her most recent trip to the State House, Sabina said that she would have run for a seat in the UDA party under William Ruto if she had different interests during the previous elections.
"It hurts when people call us sellouts because if I had gone, I would have gotten a spacious seat. You would have seen how this party has rewarded its supporters if I had won, and I would be in charge right now, she said.
Despite belonging to the Jubilee party of the Azimio Coalition, the legislator justified her choice to support the Kenya Kwanza administration throughout the interview.
Sabina asserted that it was only after careful consideration that she decided to contribute to the solution rather than the problem.
The member contended that charging a group of Jubilee MPs with deserting their party by publicly endorsing the president was unfair.

"I have a seat; I earned it, therefore no one can threaten me. Even the IEBC called me "said the speaker.
Sabina claims that some people have even accused several lawmakers of taking bribes between Ksh. 50,000 and Ksh. 1,000,000.
"Thus, it is incorrect to claim that I went to the State House in exchange for a handout of Ksh. 50,000 or 100,000 because that money is insufficient to cover my daily demands. Ksh. 50,000 or Ksh. One hundred thousand won't sway my opinion, "The chosen MP contended.
Sabina believes that one of the main reasons Jubilee lost the most recent elections was a need for a more well-thought-out strategy.

Despite having strong leadership, we needed to improve from the ground up. For instance, nobody would be left in the village of Murang'a talking about Jubilee after a demonstration.
