Nairobi former governor Evans Kidero says that the azimio la Umoja coalition has no endgame plan for their nationwide protests.

According to kidero azimio la Umoja is not achieving anything by reprimanding the government and compares the protests to exercising on a treadmill where they are moving but still stationary.

"If you ask me what is Azimio's endgame plan I don't seem to think or see if they have any. They are on a treadmill, running but without moving," he said in an interview on K24 on Wednesday.

The former governor says that the nationwide protests by azimio are not as peaceful as the leaders claim they are, adding that the protests in Kisumu forced businesses to shut down and paralysed transport in the city.

"I know that they claim to be talking of peace but there is no peace, 5 or 6 days ago protests were held in Kisumu and matatus were not allowed to ply," he said.

"Our mothers, sisters and sisters-in-law were not allowed to go and sell their tomatoes." he added.

As a result, Kidero believes Azimio's leaders are desperate, which is why they continue to prolong their anti-government protests against the kenya kwanza regime.

"I think desperation makes people take leave of their senses but I am hard-pressed to believe that Azimio leaders are desperate."

Yesterday, the former governor led a section of azimio leaders who were defecting and joining the kenya kwanza alliance. The squad announced that they had quit the Kenya Kwanzaa and the United Democratic Alliance party, as well as the Orange Democratic Movement and other related political parties within the azimio coalition.

Speaking at the occasion, the former governor Evans Kidero vowed that the team would not back down and would cooperate closely with the new government to demonstrate that the people of Luo Nyanza had been freed from the clutches of Raila Odinga.
