National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa has accused former president Uhuru Kenyatta of sabotaging Ruto’s economic recovery plan to create jobs for the youth.
Speaking in Vihiga on Saturday, the lawmaker claimed the youth are being misused to destroy property during the anti-government demonstrations.
“While the president is creating jobs, you are complaining that he (Ruto) is disturbing your mother,” he said.
The claims follow a news conference by Kenyatta on Friday at the Karen residence of his son after he claimed the DCI agents arrived in a vehicle bearing foreign number plates with the intent to raid the home.
He claimed that the State had harassed his family, citing purported Friday visits by detectives to the home of his son Jomo in Karen.

During a live television appearance on Friday, Kenyatta expressed his dissatisfaction and urged the government to stop single-out his entire family and instead confront him.
He urged President Ruto's administration to confront him directly rather than engaging his family.
“If I am the problem, just come for me. My silence doesn’t imply fear. Come directly for me,” Kenyatta declared.
Further, he noted rumours that Kenyatta's son Jomo may have 20 guns and that the police were trying to enter his house.
“Why do you have firearms in your house? What battles are you fighting in your house?” the House Majority Leader posed.
Ichung'wah attacked Kenyatta for praising the smooth transition of power to Ruto, whose presidential run he opposed, about Kenyatta's words, arguing that the retired President had just carried out his constitutional duty.
“You handed over power because the constitution obligates you to hand over. You never did us any favor; all we are asking you is to respect the Constitution,” he said.
