President William Ruto has affirmed that the Kenya Kwanza government will not tolerate violence against the police.
Speaking during an Interdenominational Church Service at Mwatunge Grounds, Taita Taveta County, the Head of State has warned that those sponsoring attacks against the police, who were doing their work professionally, would be dealt with decisively.
Ruto confirmed several police officers are in hospital nursing injuries due to the well-organised attacks.
“Our security agencies, in accordance with the law and the Constitution, must enforce the rule of law,” he said.
President Ruto urged decision-makers to cease encouraging the demolition of crucial public infrastructure to undermine the nation's economy.

He pleaded with young people not to let politicians exploit them to incite violence and damage property.
‘Reject violence. That will only land you in trouble,” he said.
Additionally, he said the government was ready to work with all leaders from across the political divide to advance the country’s development agenda.
This follows a string of anti-government demonstrations in the country planned by the Azimio la Umoja Party Leader, Raila odinga.
The opposition is leading demonstrations against the high cost of living in the country and the punitive taxes imposed in the Finance Act 2023.
