"We advise to make sure that the polls are in sync with the law and it is not FKF alone, all other sports bodies must adhere to the laws of the land when conducting their business," said Namwamba.

At a meeting, the FKF's NEC stated earlier this month that the elections would follow the FKF Electoral Code (2020), which was applied to the previous 2020 elections and would offer uniformity and transparency in the electoral process.

"The NEC kick-started the process of the FKF elections 2024, scheduled to be held later in the year, by resolving that the said elections will be conducted using the FKF Electoral Code (2020), used in the last FKF elections.

"The federation is committed to prudent governance and the growth of football in Kenya. These resolutions will enable a more productive 2024 for all stakeholders. This provides consistency and transparency in the electoral process," read part of the statement FKF Chief Executive Officer Barry Otieno signed on January 6, 2024.

The council also decided that the FKF Electoral Board and Electoral Code (2020) will be ratified at the Annual General Meeting, which will take place in Nairobi on March 16.
