In Al Nassr's season-ending match, Cristiano Ronaldo scored 34th and 35th goals, shattering the record for the most in a Saudi Pro League season.

The 39-year-old Portuguese forward tweeted, "I don't follow the records, the records follow me."

On Monday, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid player scored twice in stoppage time in the first half of Al Nassr's 4-2 home victory over Al Ittihad. His header came in the 69th minute.

Moroccan striker Abderrazak Hamdallah set the previous record for the most goals in a season with 34 in 2018–19.

Al Nassr scored 14 points behind winners Al Hilal, ensuring them a second-place finish.

In December 2022, Ronaldo's signing with Al Nassr, a team based in Riyadh, marked a significant turning point for the Saudi league, initiating an influx of foreign players.

Ronaldo, who won the 2016 European Championship with Portugal, has been added to the team for this year's competition, which will take place in Germany next month. This will be his 11th international competition.

With an astounding 206 appearances and a record 128 goals, Ronaldo stands as the most-capped player in men's international football, a testament to his global impact.
