Chelsea striker Sam Kerr and West Ham midfielder Kristie Mewis have announced they are expecting a baby next year.
The 31-year-old Australian captain and 33-year-old Mewis shared the news on Kerr’s Instagram, posting: “Mewis-Kerr baby coming 2025!”
Mewis will be carrying the baby.
“A huge congratulations to Kristie and her partner Sam, who have announced they are expecting their first child,” West Ham said on Instagram.
Sam Kerr, Australia’s all-time leading goalscorer and a national sporting icon, has established herself as one of football’s most decorated players.

At Chelsea, she has secured five consecutive Women’s Super League titles, three FA Cups, two League Cups, and a Community Shield. Although she signed a new two-year contract in June, Kerr has been sidelined since January due to a knee ligament injury.
Kristie Mewis, capped 53 times for the USA, joined West Ham from NJ/NY Gotham FC in December, adding her experience and talent to the squad.
In March, Sam Kerr pleaded not guilty to charges of racially aggravated harassment of a police officer in London. She is set to appear in court in February.
